DILG URGES
LGUS TO SUBMIT ELA |
| |
Zamboanga Sibugay Department
of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director, Concepcion
Capitańa, urged the ten (10) remaining Local Government Units (LGUs) of
the province to submit their Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) for the
2010-2013 term during an exclusive interview on Monday, December 5.
Captania revealed that after assuming their respective offices as public
officials, the latter are mandated by the DILG to formulate their ELA
and submit copies to the concerned government agency which will serve as
everybody’s guide on how each LGU will run their governance during the
term.
“The LGUs are advised to immediately formulate their own ELA after
assuming office and submit it to the DILG for purposes of guidance in
the way they run their local government during their respective terms”,
explained Capitania.
According the DILG Provincial Chief, only six (6) municipalities,
Tungawan, Diplahan, Kabasalan, Payao, Mabuhay and Buug, were able to
submit their ELA as of PRESS time.
“So far, we only have six municipalities that submitted their ELA and
the rest are still on their way of finishing the final touches of their
reports and we at the DILG are waiting for them to submit as soon as
possible”, Capitania added.
The ELA is a compilation of the goals and plans of the LGU during the
term. It also includes the mission and vision of the LGU, detailed but
brief profile of the municipality, sectoral development goals and
strategies, legislative requirements, plan implementations, monitoring
and evaluation. The said document is regularly done every term.
Capitania then urged the LGUs to comply with the requirements of the
DILG related to its full disclosure policy.
“I am urging all the LGUs here in Sibugay to see to it that they would
comply the full disclosure policy of the DILG so that we can ensure that
we are all in the right track in our governance”, Capitania ended. |
