PERSONAL PROFILE
Congressman Romeo Masupil Jalosjos Jr. commonly called as “John” among
family members and close friends is the eldest among the siblings of
Romeo Garcia Jalosjos, a businessman and former Congressional
Representative of the First Congressional District of the Province of
Zamboanga del Norte. Though a pilot by profession, he pursue not on
navigating planes and aircrafts but rather on steering the helm of
progress and development not only as a political leader but as well as
a devote public servant.
His debut in political leadership and public servitude was his
election as Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Tampilisan,
Zamboanga del Norte. Fueled with his genuine principle for change and
reforms, within just a single term as a Mayor, he changed the way a
fourth class municipality conducted its transaction in the matter of
transparency, efficiency and effectivity with primal focus on social
services, project implementation and equal distribution of t he
municipal resources among component barangays. These are the main
reasons why during his tenure of office the Local Government Unit of
Tampilisan has been awarded for good housekeeping practices among
other cities in municipalities. He was loved by his constituents in
his pro-masses approach in leadership and management has become part
of the municipality’s history and set the barometer and a constant
comparison among his successors in the Local Chief Executive position.
Upon assumption of the office as Congressional Representative of the
Second District of Zamboanga Sibugay on July 1, 2011 he then started
to initiate reforms and development for his district. With his
leadership maxim “Sa Katawhan Na Sab”, he designs and implements
congressional plans and programs that caters the need of his
constituents for social services and infrastructural development. His
role as a pipeline for progress that connects his district to the
national government agencies alongside with his committed aspirations
to alleviate the lives of the people whom he serves inspire him to
double his efforts and fueled his leadership vigor to pave the way of
his constituents’ dreamed reforms. “A good leader is the one who
listens and sympathizes more to those who he leads rather than
imposing commands according only to his own will and presumptions“ has
been and will always be his principle leadership.
