MUNICIPALITY OF IPIL

Ipil is a first class partially-urban municipality and the center of economic and agro-industry in Zamboanga Peninsula that actively thrives on agriculture, fisheries, commerce and trading. It covers a total land area of 36, 690 hectares, composed of 28 barangays, 9 are classified as urban while 19 are classified as rural. Demographically, May 2010 NSO census official result reveals that Ipil has a total population of 64,939. Among the 16 municipalities in the entire Zamboanga Sibugay, Ipil is the most populous with 11.1 percent share to the provincial total population.
